You’re never too old to ice skate! Skaters ages 16 and older are invited to learn to skate or enhance their skating skills in a fun and comfortable learning environment. Classes include group instruction and free time and encourage skaters to learn at their own pace. Skaters will be grouped by age and/or ability as needed.
- For participants 16 years and older
- No formal skating experience or instruction is required
- Participants will need to demonstrate falling down and getting up and taking 8 steps off ice; view our instructional video here
- A helmet, such as a bike helmet or HECC helmet, is required and must be provided by the participant; Please label the helmet with First Name, Last Initial on the front with painter’s tape before arriving
- Wear warm, comfortable layers that allow for movement, long sleeves and pants, gloves or mittens
- Rental skates are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are included in the class fee; Participants are welcome to bring their own skates although double blade skates are not permitted

A skills-based course designed for players with little to no hockey experience, former players looking to get back into the game, or non-competitive players seeking an opportunity to practice. Focus will be on enhancing skating technique, honing the fundamentals of hockey, and developing greater comprehension of the tactical and positional elements of the game. Classes will be divided by ability when possible.
Age: 18 and up
Requirements: For skaters who have completed at least one season of FMC Teen/Adult: Learn to Skate in hockey skates and received the appropriate recommendation from their Instructor, or the equivalent.
Equipment:Full hockey equipment is required. View our Equipment Guide.

Brush up on your skating skills with Teen/Adult Learn to Skate, or get more game time with Adult Organized Pick-Up.
Mondays from 9:30-10:20pm, this is the perfect venue for women with little or no hockey experience to get into the game, or for former players looking to get back in and shake the rust off! Players spend 20-25 minutes developing their basic hockey skills, including proper skating technique, passing, and shooting. Participants will then spend the remainder of the class putting these skills into simulated game situations if allowed.
Our Back to School begins 9/14 and runs through 11/2. Each singular date/time is $23/ date. Sessions can be purchased for the entire session at a discount (below) or a la carte (above). Sessions purchased a la carte can be managed through your account up to an hour before the program’s start. Sessions withdrawn will not be refunded without a doctor’s medical note but will be credited to your account.

Adult Organized Pick Up is a mixed level, non-competitive pickup session. This program is not intended for players with competitive experience. Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis with permission from the instructional staff. Instructors reserve the right to refuse participation of any skater who may disrupt the collaborative or developmental nature of this program. A combination of the Adult Instructional and the Organized Pick Up program. Available in Cambridge, Marlboro, Raynham and Revere. Marlboro’s program is 1.5 hours for $186 / season with a walk on of $28 / session. Cambridge, Raynham and Revere programs are 2 hours for $228 / season. Walk on is $32 for both hours.

What should I know before coming to the rink?
- Arrive 20-25 minutes prior to the program start time.
- Adhere to all prerequisites and equipment requirements.
- Learn to Skate participants, be sure to wear a helmet, warm layers that allow for movement, long sleeves and pants, gloves or mittens.
- For hockey programs, full equipment is required. Our hockey equipment list.
