Meet the Customer Care Staff

Read below about our Customer Care staff and get to know the people who answer all of your questions a little bit better!

John DeRosa – Customer Care and Development Manager

John DeRosa joined FMC in 2017.  Prior to that, John managed customer service departments for 12 years for big and small companies alike where he focused on giving customers great experiences, something that he looks to continue doing for FMC’s customers.  John graduated from St. Sebastian’s School in Needham in 1997 where he lettered in varsity basketball and baseball.  He played baseball at Drew University in Madison, NJ where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001.  John currently lives in Rhode Island with his wife Brianne and their two children.

Janet Black – Customer Care Coordinator

Janet has been with FMC Ice Sports since April of 2015.  When she started, she worked at the main office in Pembroke in Customer Care as well as the Armstrong Arena in Plymouth as a Program Coordinator and Instructor.  Janet has been around the skating rinks since she was 4 years old. Ever since then, she fell in love with skating and competed as an individual skater for many years. The sport has been within her family for as long as she can remember, as both her mother and sister pursued businesses in the figure skating industry. From generation to generation, skating has always be present throughout the family. Through her experiences throughout the arenas, she was able to maintain some great friendships and share her knowledge.

Jaimee Ewell – Sales Development and Customer Service Representative

Jaimee is a Pembroke native who graduated from Pembroke High School and continued on to massage therapy school where she received her massage therapy license and practiced for the past 10 years. Prior to joining FMC in 2017, she had roughly 10 years of customer service and sales experience throughout retail, food and beauty industries. As a sales development representative and customer service rep, she answers customer service calls and emails, while contacting and securing partnerships. In doing so, she works closely with regional managers and customer service to find networking contacts and possible partnerships, as well as to brainstorm ideas. Jaimee and her nine year old son are always on the go and like to stay organized, happy and busy!

Joan Barrington – Sales Development Representative

Hired last October, this former hockey mom of three boys (and ballerina mom of one girl), feels very much at home talking about rinks and ice time with groups, companies, non-profits and individuals. Joan chauffeured Wayne Gretzky and Patrick Roy wanna-be’s all over the East Coast and Canada as a stay-at-home mom before coming to FMC. While her children were in school, Joan helped local charities, schools, and sports organizations with their marketing, publicity, and promotions. Joan’s last sales position was 25 years ago!  Joan wants to thank FMC for this opportunity to get back in the game and off the bench. She is overjoyed to be dusting off her briefcase and college degrees. Joan earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Communications and Marketing from Syracuse University and her MBA from Stetson University. As an experienced sales representative, Joan is confident about her new opportunities at FMC. Joan and her husband, Mark, are now empty-nesters living in Plymouth with an array of stored hockey bags and sticks in their garage.
