Mark Squillacioti Honored for His Commitment to the Community
We’re proud to congratulate Mark Squillacioti on receiving several well-deserved honors recognizing his dedication to the Boston community and his ongoing commitment to supporting youth, skating, and hockey programs.
At National Night Out in East Boston, Mark was initially surprised to receive a Community Partner Award recognizing his partnership with the Boston Police Department. But the evening had even more in store, as Mark was presented with three additional recognitions honoring his contributions to the community.
Among them were a citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives, an Official Resolution from the Boston City Council, and a Certificate of Recognition from the City of Boston and Mayor Michelle Wu.
While Mark is quick to emphasize that recognition isn’t what motivates him, his commitment to giving back is deeply personal. In reflecting on the honors, Mark shared:
“I never look for recognition. I’m always happy and proud to provide what I can and I wouldn’t be able to do it without my company support. FMC Ice Sports. Growing up in a rink and playing hockey for a long time. I personally know how much a skating rink can keep a youth out of trouble. When I returned to the rinks many years ago after my playing days, I made a promise to myself that I would support and help all programs in the communities that we serve.”
That commitment has become an important part of Mark’s work with FMC Ice Sports, where he continues to help support the rinks and programs that provide positive opportunities for young people and bring communities together.
For someone who grew up in a rink and experienced firsthand the impact that hockey and skating can have on a young person, Mark’s dedication goes well beyond the rink itself. His work reflects a belief in creating safe, welcoming spaces where young people can build friendships, develop skills, and become part of something positive.
These recent honors are a wonderful recognition of Mark’s efforts and the difference he continues to make in the communities FMC Ice Sports serves.
