Featured Rink: Navin Arena – Marlboro, MA
The Navin Arena, named after John J. Navin, is a Commonwealth of Massachusetts public ice skating facility overseen by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). The rink was built in the 70’s and FMC took over management in 1995.
Inside the arena includes a heated conference room, facilities for birthday parties, four team locker rooms, a spacious lobby, and a snack bar.
The rink is home to many local programs and high school teams including Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, Triboro Youth Hockey, the Junior Railers, Demons Youth Hockey, SMS Youth Hockey, Starhawks Youth Hockey, Marlboro High School, and our very own Marlboro Thunder of the New England Future Stars.
Arena Manager, Alek Rozich, who has been with FMC for 4 years, was previously the assistant manager at the William L. Chase Arena in Natick before coming to Marlboro. Growing up in Michigan with a hockey background, Alek is always available to answer questions at the rink.
One notable alum of Navin is Olympian, Bobby Butler. Bobby was a member of Marlboro High’s 2004-2005 State Championship-winning team and throughout his high school career contributed a record-breaking 284 points.
Navin offers plenty to do for all ages. On Tuesday nights, check out our Adult Instructional Hockey program followed by Organized Pick Up. On Sundays, sign up for Bruins FUNdamentals and learn the basic hockey skills you will need to become a great player. In the fall, join us for one of our many public skating sessions.
With a welcoming staff, lots of classes, and a clean environment, Navin Arena is a wonderful place to have fun!
