Rise & Evolve Program
Horgan Arena, Auburn MA
It’s great to welcome Josh, Grace, Tyler, and other volunteers every week as part of the Rise & Evolve program out of Auburn High School in Auburn, MA. This sub-separate program works with students with varying disabilities ranging in age from 14-18 that have not yet graduated as well as several post-graduate students ranging in age from 18-22 years of age.
“Our students and young adults focus their day on Functional Academics, Independent Living Skills and Vocational Training both in the school environment as well as out in the community. The Horgan Ice Rink in Auburn is a wonderful example of a Community Based Vocational Site that welcomes our staff and students and provides a host of tasks for students to learn! Being one of our longest held vocational sites, many students over the years have learned to mop floors, vacuum, wipe down windows, empty trash and even sharpen skates. Paul Drapeau and his staff have been so supportive and welcoming over the years!” -Wendy Quirion, Transition/Vocational Coordinator at Auburn Public Schools
We are grateful here at FMC Ice Sports to be part of such a special program and we appreciate their hard work helping to make the arena shine week after week!
