Driscoll Arena is a Commonwealth of Massachusetts public ice skating facility overseen by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). The rink opened in 1972 and FMC took over management in 1992.
Inside the arena includes six team locker rooms, facilities for birthday parties, a spacious lobby, skate rentals, and a snack bar.
The rink is home to many local programs and high school teams including Durfee High School, Somerset High School, Diman Regional Vocational High School, Apponequet Regional High School, Roger Williams University, Monarchs Adult League, SWS Youth Hockey, Southeastern Grizzlies Cross Ice Hockey, and the Skating Club of Southern New England.
Arena Manager, Steve Pereira had been with FMC for 10 years. When Steve is not at the rink he can be found coaching youth baseball and basketball teams. Steve has also been very active in working with adults with disabilities for the past 10 years.
A few famous skaters that have been to Driscoll include Olympian Michelle Kwan, and former Bruin Rick Middleton, who recently had his number retired at the Garden.
Driscoll Arena offers plenty to do for all ages. On Tuesdays, grab some friends and check out our House League. On Saturdays, sign up for one of our Bruins FUNdamentals programs to get introduced to hockey in a fun and comfortable learning environment. During the fall and winter, join us for one of our many public skating sessions. In the summer, check out some of our dry floor events.
