Successful Fundraiser for the Ava Roy Fund

This past weekend (December 21st – December 23rd) FMC Ice Sports and Buffone Arena hosted a fundraiser to benefit the Ava Roy Fund. This foundation was established after her father, Christopher Roy, was killed in the line of duty fighting a fire in Worcester December 9th, 2018.

Christopher Joseph Roy, a Worcester firefighter, died from injuries sustained while fighting a fire on Lowell Street. He was 36. Roy was assigned to the Webster Square fire station, Ladder 4. He was a member of the fire department for 2 and a half years.

Buffone Skating Arena donated $2 of all public skate admission from three public skating sessions that weekend. From these three skating sessions, FMC was able to raise over $500 for the memorial fund to help his family, especially his 9-year-old daughter, Ava Roy.

Thank you to everyone who came out!
