Service Stars – February 2017

service-stars-logoFMC Ice Sports’ Service Stars Awards program recognizes and rewards team members who demonstrate commitment, ingenuity and extraordinary effort in delivering exceptional customer service to arena patrons. Each month, our regional managers select individuals who best represent the values and mission esteemed by FMC. Founded by President and CEO Robert McBride, the program will honor selected Service Stars each month with a certificate of appreciation and a $100 Visa gift card.

The Service Stars for the month of February are:

Western Massachusetts – Collins/Moylan Arena – Kathy Roberts-Snedeker

“Kathy is certainly Greenfield’s most dedicated skating instructor. She is usually the first to arrive for Sunday’s LTS classes, and the last to leave. She makes a point of keeping skater’s parents aware of their children’s’ skills development, she often volunteers her time, and shows a genuine interest in our programs.”

– Mike Mastrototaro, Regional Manager

Central Massachusetts – Buffone Arena – Zach Gerardi

Zach is truly our go-to guy, here at the Buffone Arena. Whether it be opening at 5 AM or closing at 1 AM, weekends, weekdays, or holidays, we can always depend on Zach to do whatever is needed to keep our facility operating at peak performance. Zach has worked with our learn-to-play hockey program, has been a tremendous asset to our Universal Access Program for the benefit of people with disabilities and has been a major resource to keeping our building and grounds always well-maintained, safe and at the highest level of recreational facility standards. Zach is worthy of recognition and our sincere thanks for all his efforts.”

– Nick Pennucci, Regional Manager

Metro Boston  – Cronin Arena – Mariah DeRosa

“Mariah is an integral member of our Learn to Skate coaching staff in the Boston area. Nicknamed “The Tot Whisperer” for her amazing abilities with the Tot classes, she can always be counted on to bring a positive energy to any situation. Always reliable and a team player, Mariah is a shining example of what a Service Star should be.”

– Jessica Proctor, Regional Director

Southeastern Massachusetts  – Hetland Arena – Brett Smith

“Brett is an outstanding part of our staff here at Hetland. He came up big this month covering High School Tournament games, and filling in multiple shifts as necessary. He has an impeccable work ethic, an eagerness to learn, and leaves the building spotless whenever he works. I proudly endorse Brett as this month’s Service Star winner.”

– Ron Mattos, Arena Manager

Central Services – Headquarters – Suzanne Gonick

“Suzanne is always professional, knowledgeable and polite. The times she cannot provide an answer she will research the question and always replies in a short period of time. Suzanne has been a great resource and has never complained.”

– Dennis Caulfield, Arena Manager

“For many of us both in Operations and Programming, Suzanne has been the go to person for any issues with POS, NetSuite and additional accounting functions.  She digs in to resolve issues and develops creative ideas to simplify process and procedures both for our employees and customers.  Thank you Suzanne for all your hard work!”

– Alane Swiderski, VP of Programming and Services
