FMC Ice Sports Employee Spotlight Jacqueline Raftery

WEST ROXBURY – High School senior, Jacqueline Raftery, has been perfecting her on-ice performance since the age of four, skating out of the Jim Roche Community Ice Rink in West Roxbury and the Pirelli Veteran’s Arena in Franklin. Jacqueline began her career with FMC Ice Sports as a Learn to Skate Instructor Apprentice. Her strong work ethic and positive attitude earned her a promotion to Learn to Skate Instructor, where she successfully conducts her own classes.

At the age of 17, this East Walpole native has accumulated some impressive accomplishments over the years including being a three-time New England Regional Competitor, five-time Bay State Games Competitor, two-time Ice Chips and Frog Pond New Year’s Eve performer. She was the 2009 State Games of America Champion and has completed her Novice Free skating and Junior Moves in the Field tests.

When Jacqueline isn’t teaching Learn to Skate participants or adding to her collection of nominations, she is busy studying at Bishop Feehan High School where she is an Honor Roll Student and recently received Merit Scholarships to three reputable colleges.

Jacqueline also enjoys spending her time volunteering at various organizations for children such as the Boston Children’s Hospital, The Special Olympics and current FMC partner, Camp Sunshine, a retreat on Sebago Lake, Maine that provides respite, joy, support and hope to children with life-threatening illnesses.
