Cooler than ever.\n\n\n\nWe’re excited to announce that FMC Ice Sports is once again partnering with The Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for our annual summer fundraising event—now with a brand-new name! \n\n\n\nFormerly known as Sun Safety Skate & Donate\, our 7th Annual Cool Off for a Cause will take place July 13–24\, 2026 (weekdays only) at participating FMC rinks across Massachusetts. \n\n\n\nThis two-week community event offers free public skating sessions while raising funds to support the life-changing work of The Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. FMC Ice Sports is proud to donate nearly 150 hours of public skating time to benefit this important cause. \n\n\n\nCancer has touched all of our lives in some way\, and together we can make a difference. When you participate or make a donation\, you’re helping support Dana-Farber’s unique commitment to both groundbreaking cancer research and compassionate patient care for children\, adults\, and their families. \n\n\n\nPublic skating is free and open to everyone. We encourage a suggested donation equivalent to the regular admission fee—or any amount you’re comfortable giving—to support The Jimmy Fund.

SUMMARY:Summer Adaptive Skating & BBQ
DESCRIPTION:Join the Universal Access Program and Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers for some cool summer ice skating and then enjoy a waterfront barbeque outside the rink along Constitution Beach (courtesy of FMC Ice Sports)! \nUse your wheelchair\, an ice sled\, a skate walker\, ice grippers\, or conventional skates on the ice. Spin\, slide and play gently competitive games! There will be pucks and colorful balls to shoot around\, races\, and a tower of blocks to crash down! \nThe rink is cold\, so please dress warmly and bring your winter coat\, gloves\, and a hat! \nThis event is for people with disabilities\, their families\, support staff\, and friends. All are encouraged to join on the ice to help support! Yaktrax (ice grippers) are available in the lobby for those that can’t skate. \nSpace is limited and pre-registration is required. Sign up for a one-hour timeslot. You must request to register by noon two days before the program. \nGroups: Maximum group size is 15\, including staff.
